Gautam Gambhir reacted quickly after the former Pakistan cricketer, Tanvir Ahmed said Virat Kohli was fugitive for not playing the Asia Cup 2018 in the UAE.
Virat Kohli was kept rested from the ongoing Asia Cup 2018 by the BCCI. He was playing a continuous cricket, and thus the board gave him rest keeping in mind for the upcoming tour against the Windies and Australia.
Meanwhile, the former Pakistan cricketer, Tanvir Ahmed assault the India skipper, calling him a ‘deserter’ during a debate on national television. However, Gautam Gambhir quickly reacted after the statement.

Moreover, Tanvir Ahmed said Virat Kohli ran away after the grueling tour of England.
Kohli was suffering from a back injury in the limited-overs against England. However, despite carrying an injury, he played for his nation. Ahmed tried to justify if a player can play a series against England, then he can also manage to play the Asia Cup 2018. Virat Kohli is aware of the fact that India might have to play three matches against Pakistan including the final game. However, according to Tanvir Ahmed, Virat Kohli thus ran away knowing this fact.
“Meri nazar mein Virat Kohli bhaag gaye hain. England ki wo poori series khele. England ki Test series mein unko back ka problem hua, uske baad bhi wo matches khele. Jab ek player apne mulk ke liye England ki series khel sakta hai, toh jab usko pata hai Asia Cup jitna bada event aa raha hai, toh jab wo England series survive kar sakta hai toh Asia Cup bhi survive kar sakta hai. Mere mulk ke matches Pakistan ke khilaaf hone hain, ek baar nahi teen baar, toh aise bhaag jaana..”

When a player can play a series against England for his country battling a back issue, then he could have managed to play in Asia Cup as well. Kohli knew that India might have to play with Pakistan on three occasions including the final which is why he ran away..)” Tanvir Ahmed said of ABP news.
Furthermore, Gautam Gambhir in reply said Virat Kohli didn’t run away. Kohli has almost 35-36 centuries to his name while Tanvir Ahmed didn’t play 35 matches.
