With each passing day, Asia Cup 2022 is inching closer. The much-awaited tournament is less than a month away and is scheduled to begin on August 27. The fifteenth edition of the tournament will see six teams fighting it out for the title. All the five Test playing nations of Asia – India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh – along with a qualifier will play in Asia Cup 2022.
The qualifier tournament is scheduled to be contested just before the Asia Cup 2022. UAE and Kuwait, who progressed from the 2020 ACC Western Region T20 and Singapore and Hong Kong, who came through the 2020 ACC Eastern Region T20 will participate in the competition. The six teams have been divided into two groups.
India, Pakistan and the qualifier are in Group A while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Afghanistan form Group B. Each team will play the other team once in the group stage. The top two teams qualify for the Super 4 round where the teams play against each other in league format again before the final where the top two would feature.
Asia Cup 2022 venue:
Asia Cup 2022 will be held in the United Arabia Emirates. The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in Sri Lanka but the venue had to be changed due to the political unrest in the country. And while UAE will be the venue for Asia Cup 2022, Sri Lanka Cricket will serve as the hosts. All the games will be held in Dubai and Sharjah.

Asia Cup 2022 will kickstart on August 27 with the clash between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan. Defending champions India will open their campaign on the next day when they lock horns against arch-rivals Pakistan. The group stage will conclude on September 2 before the Super 4s begin on September 3. All the matches will start at 7:30 PM (IST).
