Veteran Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has joined the likes of legendary Indian cricketers; Yuvraj Singh and Virender Sehwag in describing India’s chances to win the ODI World Cup in India. Rohit Sharma-led side will start as one of the favourites to win the championship on home soil, as they have enough resources to perform exceedingly well.
In recent years, India’s performance in ICC competitions has been really disappointing with them crumbling in crunch moments of the game in recent times. They have not won an ICC title since MS Dhoni led the team to glory in the 2013 Champions Trophy and the team will be desperate to lay their hands on the coveted trophy, this time around.
With the ODI World Cup being scheduled in a month’s time, former Indian cricketer backs the Rohit Sharma-led side to win the championship on home soil after 12 long years. The 2011 World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh backs India to come good in forthcoming mega events and feels that the team will perform well under pressure.

“ @YUVSTRONG12 ayi baat pressure ki, toh iss bar hum pressure lenge nahi, denge! Like champions!
Peechle 12 saal mein, host team world cup jeeti hain!2011 – We won at Home
2015 – Australia won in Australia
2019 – England won in England
2023 – Hum Toofan Machayenge!#CWC23… https://t.co/Dx0VVoTfTd

“We all want a repeat of 2011 in #ICCWorldCup23 BUT In 2011 #TeamIndia shined under pressure. In 2023, Again, the team is under pressure to perform Do we have enough time to turn this around? Can we use this pressure to become a ‘Game changer’ #WillIndiaWin? #CWC23 #Ad #ThumsUpFanPulse.”
Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag in reply to the Indian all-rounder Yuvraj Singh sounded the confidence of India winning the World Cup, stating the performance of the home teams in the last three editions of the marquee events.
Since the 2011 World Cup, the host nations have got their hands on the prestigious trophy for three consecutive times. Australia won the World Cup in 2015 when they co-hosted with New Zealand and England won the trophy as hosts in 2019 beating New Zealand in a close encounter to win the championship under the inspiring leadership of Eoin Morgan.
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik agreed with the opinion of his former opening partner Virender Sehwag, as he believes that India will have a good chance of doing well in the home condition by winning the championship for India.

Couldn’t agree more Viru paaji! This team has time and again done the impossible. Our GOOD is better than other team’s BEST. The guests can have everything they want but not the WORLD CUP.#IndiaJeetega #IndiaWillWin #CWC23 #Ad #ThumsUpFanPulse https://t.co/6GBSJ2McpX
