Recently, a couple of months ago, Pakistan batsman Asif Ali’s daughter, who suffered from stage four cancer, died in a hospital in the United States. Meanwhile, Asif Ali revealed an unknown story regarding Inzamam-ul-Haq, who helped him to fetch money from PCB for treatment to his daughter.
The former captain Inzamam-ul-Haq has decided to step down as Pakistan chief selector, he announced at a press conference on Wednesday. Inzamam’s current term will end on July 30.
Inzamam-ul-Haq is a true gentleman – Asif Ali
While paying tribute to the service of Inzamam-ul-Haq, Asif Ali revealed the kindness of the former Pakistan batsman via a tweet. He revealed that Inzamam helped him during the dark times and thanked him for everything. He believes Inzamam is a true gentleman and role-model for every human being.
Digging into his tweet, it read ”When @Inzamam08 Bhai found out that my daughter was suffering from stage 4 cancer, he personally went down to PCB office, spoke about the funds for treatment & got it sorted. Legend beyond words. A true role model both in and out on the field.”

“I think it is time to step down, I will complete my term that ends on July 30,” Inzamam said at the press conference. Cricket is my passion but I do not want to be part of the selection process. Unfortunately, we lost the opening match and it became difficult to make up the run rate in later matches,” he said
Sources said, Inzamam had shown interest in the extension of his contract for another year but the PCB has decided to go for a new selection committee. The name of former Test opener Mohsin Hasan Khan is being tipped to become the new chief selector.
However, it would be a decent decision, as Mohsin Khan has already worked in this position in the past with good results and has also served as interim head coach of the national team.
