ICC World Cup 2015: Australia announce their squad

Australia have announced their squad for the ICC cricket World Cup 2015. All the teams had to announce their squad on or before 15th January, the Aussies had already selected their squad and had given the list to the ICC, but Cricket Australia had requested that the squad shall not be announced before the end of the Sydney Test.

Michael Clarke who was injured and was out of the Test series has been named as the captain of the side for the World cup. The impressive off spinner Nathan Lyon, doesn’t make it into the ODI squad, Xavier Doherty is the lone spinner. The four time World Cup champions will be looking to win this world cup for various reasons. The squad is full of All-Rounders which gives the squad a lot more flexibility. The squad includes Shane Watson, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, James Faulkner, and Mitchell Johnson.

The squad: Michael Clarke (C), George Bailey, Shane Watson, David Warner, Aaron Finch, Glenn Maxwell, Steven Smith, Mitchell Marsh, Xavier Doherty, Mitchell Starc, Mitchell Johnson, Josh Hazlewood,  Brad Haddin (wk), James Faulkner and Pat Cummins.

Possible playing 11: David Warner, Aaron Finch, Shane Watson, Michael Clarke, Steven Smith, Mitchell Marsh/ Glenn Maxwell, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Johnson, James Faulkner, Josh Hazlewood and Pat Cummins.
