Cricket Australia have named a 12-men squad for the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be held at Brisbane from December 4th.

Skipper Michael Clarke has been named in the squad but if he fails to pass the fitness Test by 26th November, then Brad Haddin will lead the side.

Speaking in Adelaide, the national selector Rod Marsh stated:

If he doesn’t start running by Wednesday, then I think we can safely assume that he won’t be playing the Test match.

Apart from this, under-fire batsman Chris Rogers retains his place in the squad. All-rounder Shane Watson returns to the Test squad after missing the UAE tour. Ryan Harris also makes his way back to the side following his knee surgery.

Josh Hazlewood, Australia’s best bowler in the ODI series against South Africa finds a place in the squad but whether he debuts in Brisbane or not remains a fact to be seen.

Test squad for Brisbane:

Chris Rogers, David Warner, Shane Watson, Michael Clarke (capt), Steven Smith, Mitchell Marsh, Brad Haddin (vice-capt, wk), Mitchell Johnson, Ryan Harris, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon, Josh Hazlewood.
