Australia vs India 2018/19: It Is Not Fair To Criticise Mitchell Starc – Tim Paine
The Australian skipper Tim Paine backed his fast bowler Mitchell Starc for the way he is putting his hard work during the practice sessions. Of late, after every poor performance by the bowling department, Mitchell Starc was the only person, who is being the scapegoat for the wrong reasons. Meanwhile, the skipper Tim Paine gives a Pat on Starc’s back for his hard work.
Tim Paine asks people to stop criticising the premium fast bowler and wants them to understand the fact that Starc is bowling against the top-class batsmen in the world, who also put in there hard work to tackle the fast bowlers across the world.
“I don’t know what people expect from him,” Paine said after play. His stats for his whole career have been outstanding. When he’s at his best, he’s brilliant. When he’s not, not so much, but he’s not running out trying to spray the ball everywhere. That’s what I don’t get with the criticism he’s getting; Mitchell Starc is trying his absolute best to do the same thing he did a year ago when he was swinging the ball around corners,” he quoted.
Further, he went on to convey that Starc is also a human being, who is trying to do his best for the team with his performances. But, unfortunately, he couldn’t quite put in the numbers, which his fans are expecting from him.
Mitchell Starc is down in confidence – Tim Paine
Tim Paine believes that Mitchell Starc will be back to his best within the quick time when he gets off from the upcoming One-day games. Tim Paine further hopes that Mitchell Starc delivers the goods in a quick time.
“He’s down on confidence a little bit and I sometimes think people forget that he’s just a bloke who’s trying his best. I know he’s playing at the highest level and they expect a lot from him but it doesn’t always work; it’s Test cricket, he’s coming up against some very, very good batters and he’s not quite at his best. And then he addresses that and we know when he’s at his best he’s as good as anyone in the world,” he added.
Well, as Tim Paine said, it is not a great thing to criticise a certain player for the poor performance of the whole team. The recent stats of Starc shows that he was decent but compared to his previous stats, he failed to deliver.
