India opener, Rohit Sharma has created a world record, courtesy his 22nd ODI hundred at the SCG against Australia. During Sydney ODI, Rohit became the first player to score four centuries against Australia at four different venues. In the past, the right-hander had hit three tons at the MCG, WACA and Brisbane. Though on each of the occasions, India lost the game. However, the result didn’t change this time too, as India went down fighting by 34 runs.

Rohit loves scoring against the Aussies

Rohit Sharma’s previous centuries against the Aussies were dominating like any. In 2015, he smashed 138 at the MCG. A year later at the WACA in Perth, he hit an unbeaten 171. In the same year at the Gabba, the India opener smashed 124. Meanwhile, he broke the record of legendary Viv Richards by completing his fourth hundred in One-Day cricket on the Australian soil.

Even if not against Australia, Rohit has hit a hundred against Bangladesh during the 2015 WC at the MCG, Though Rohit Sharma doesn’t have a ton in Tests not T20I in Australia, the tally ready five in 50-over cricket.

Also, Rohit is second to the all-time great, Sachin Tendulkar, on the list of batsmen with most centuries against Australia in ODI’s. The Maestro has ten hundred to his name, while Rohit has collected seven so far.

However, both the teams are yet to play two more games, on January 15th in Adelaide and on January 18th at the MCG. Later on, Australia will travel to India for two T20I’s and five ODI’s; with the series beginning on February 24th in Bengaluru.

The India National Cricket Team now have two games to win and take the ODI series home as well. This tout Down Under has been pretty good for them. They first tied the T20Is (1-1), and later won the four-match Tests (2-1), creating history.
