Explosive Australian opener D’Arcy Short is hoping to return to his form in the opening fixture of the three-match T20I series against India at the Gabba.
Meanwhile, Short embarked on the international circuit on the back of a good run in Big Bash League. However, he has struggled to replicate his form in the international arena. After blasting an Australian record 257 off 148 balls for WA in a domestic one-day match, D’Arcy Short has bagged a pair of duck in his last two appearances for Australia.

However, the southpaw aims to keep things simple as he seeks to regain his form back. Moreover, he is looking to have fun and back his abilities.
“I’m trying to have as much fun as possible and even when you’re playing for Australia, it’s just another game of cricket,” Short said.
“I enjoyed the way I started the summer, and I’d like to get back there as soon as possible. I’ve just stuck to what I know, trying to be positive and having fun and backing my ability. You just have to enjoy the moment,” he added.
D’Arcy Short said the Australians were anxious to send a strong message to the Indians in their first battle of a summer that will include a Test match at Perth’s Optus Stadium starting on December 14.
“It’s always good to make runs in any international game, but it would be a good statement to do it in the first game against India to kick-start the season off,” he said. “It’s always a competitive game against them and I’m sure it will be no different tomorrow,” he concluded.
