In the Champions Trophy warm-up match Australia beat West Indies very badly on June 1, 2013 at Sophia Gardens in Cardiff, England. Australia won the match by 4 wickets.

West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. Darren Bravo scored maximum for West Indies. He scored 86 runs facing 99 balls, having 10 boundaries and 2 over-boundaries. But overall West Indies team did not scored well. They scored 256 runs in 50 over losing their 9 wickets. Australian bowler Mitchell Starc picked-up 4 wickets, Clint McKay got 3 wickets and Shane Watson got one wickets.

In the second innings Australia team played well. Shane Watson made his century in this match. He scored 135 runs facing 98 balls. He played 15 boundaries and 4 over-boundaries. Australia team scored 259 runs in 38.5 over losing their 6 wickets. The West Indies bowler Tino Best got 2 wickets, Kemar Roach picked-up 2 wickets, Darren Sammy and Dwayne Bravo got one wicket each.

After winning the warm-up match against West Indies Australia team got a strong confidence, which will help them to perform very well in this Champions Trophy.

Australia team will play their next warm-up match on June 4, 2013 against India.
