Australia’s top players and the men who have retired are going to be back soon taking the centre field for one T20 match against Perth Scorchers, the KFC t20 Bigh Bash’s defending champions. 

Australian legends Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden and Shane Warne will be a part of the Australian Legends team which will take on Perth Scorchers which will include another Aussie legend Adam Gilchrist.The match is in the interest of the WA Festival. The match will take place on Wednesday, 10th December in Aquinas College, Perth.

It is just an exibition match as Perth Scorchers will next start their Big Bash campaign trying to defend it and win it once again.

“The Festival of Cricket presents the public and corporates with a unique opportunity to not only watch a high-quality T20 match in a relaxed, social environment, but also to mix and mingle with many current and past greats of the game,” Gilchrist said.

“The chance to run around with a bunch of old mates and pit ourselves against the current BBL Champions is exciting and sure to be entertaining for all.”

“It’s a great opportunity for the Scorchers to get back into playing Twenty20 cricket after the one-dayers and Bupa Sheffield Shield,” said Perth Scorchers coach Justin Langer.

“It’s also an unbelievable opportunity for our players to play against guys like Ricky Ponting and Shane Warne.

“While it will be fun on the field and it will be nice for them to rub shoulders with them, it’ll also be fantastic experience.

“For the fans, they get to see the Scorchers for the first time for the summer and also get to see some of the greats of Australian cricket playing.”
