BBL 06: Sean Abbott’s Last Over Six Wins It For Sydney Sixers Against Brisbane Heat
Jan 3, 2017 at 5:45 PM
Sean Abbott held his nerve and hit Ben Cutting for a six in the last over to help Sydney Sixers beat Brisbane Heat in a thrilling encounter. The Sixers needed only 3 runs from the last over but Daniel Hughes’ dismissal on the very first ball of the last over made the chase a nail-biting affair before Abbott calmed down the tensed atmosphere with a maximum.
Earlier, Jimmy Peirson and Brendon McCullum gave the Heats a flying start by adding 73 runs in only 7 overs. The hosts lost four wickets inside 27 runs but Joe Burns scored an unbeaten half-century to help his team post a good total of 186 for 6.
In reply, the Sixers made a poor start as the in-form Jason Roy returned to the pavilion after scoring only 7. A 45-run partnership between Daniel Hughes and Nic Maddison steadied the ship before Maddison was dismissed for 24. Moises Henriques (10) and Sam Billings (5) could not do much with the bat but Hughes held firm from one end and scored 85 before being dismissed in the last over.

well played considering 4 bowlers in test side. Puzzling recruitment having 4 bowlers on roster in test side.
