BBL 2017/18: Impactful Brad Hogg Fetches Fresh One-year contract with Melbourne Renegades

Brad Hogg has proved his critics wrong at the age of 46, as he further struck a new deal to extend his run with the KFC Big Bash League franchise Melbourne Renegades to feature in the seventh edition of the lucrative professional league.
“Look out Melbourne, I’m coming back,” Hogg’s comments were publishes in Renegades’ release.
More sort of a bowling all-rounder, Hogg is keen to perform after being re-signed by the Renegades management for the forthcoming BBL season while adding he is excited to play alongside Aaron Finch.
“I can’t wait to get back into the sporting cauldron in Melbourne again with [Aaron Finch] Finchy and the rest of the guys,” Hogg remarked.
The 46-year-old Hogg would enjoy his second year while donning the red jersey, even after undergoing the knee surgery this year.
“A little bit of maintenance is required these days to keep the machine running perfectly,” Hogg added.
The wrist spinner Hogg, who is the part of commentary panel for broadcasting giant Star Sports for the ongoing three-match ODI series, is recuperating well after the major knee surgery forced him to stay out of the domestic leg.
“I’m feeling good and looking forward to getting back into it. Recovery is going well,” Hogg further added.
The Western Australia-based bowler, who in the recent past had expressed his desire to prolong his career in the domestic and professional fold until he crosses past the age-mark of 50.
“I just want to play. I want to crack the 50 mark. I want to finish my career playing the Big Bash,” Hogg was earlier quoted by Cricket Australia during the ODI series in India which was clinched by the hosts 4-1.
In the sixth edition, Hogg bagged eight wickets while featuring in all Renegades’ fixtures, is now focusing on to give his hundred percent – to play an integral role with the white ball for Men in Red.
“I had such a good time during the last BBL season and the fire to compete is burning strongly,” Hogg maintained.
The chief coach of Renegades, Andrew McDonald has expressed excitement to avail the services of star Australian cricketer Hogg, who has a quality experience on his back after featuring in all three formats of the gentleman’s game while donning Kangaroos’ national jersey.
“[Hoggy] He’s an energetic and experienced presence around the group and we’re excited to have him back,” McDonald asserted.
Renegades side is bound to play Hobart Hurricanes in their opening fixture of the competition on 21 December at the Bellerive Oval. The upcoming edition of the Twenty20 competition is scheduled to kick off on December 19 and will run through until February 4, 2018.
