It is not long ago that BCCI sued the WICB for violation for an amount of $42 million. WICB has come up with a plan to satisfy both parties involved and has asked BCCI if it can repay the above money in Bi-lateral ties in place of money.
Michael Muirhead the CEO of WICB said that they are hoping to sit down and talk about the issue and the answer could be as simple as more ODI’s in place of Tests. He added that there has not been an official meeting between the boards because of the elections at the BCCI and that he is waiting to set up a meeting between the officials.
He added that this is just after a week after the first meeting and that the BCCI would be preparing its agenda now and hoped that the next stage is a meeting between the boards.
He said that he wants to ask BCCI and repay it in cricketing terms and not the millions. This is after WICB president Dave Cameroon asked for a cricketing solution to the problem.
The Windies pulled out of a five match series after playing the fourth at Dharamshala. This is the reason why WICB owe money to the BCCI and Muirhead believes that bi-lateral and multi-lateral series are the solution to this problem.
The pull out at the fourth one day meant Windies missed not only th one dayer but also 3 tests that were supposed to follow. Thus BCCI threatened to take legal action if the compensation is not paid.
