If the reports of TOI are to be believed, then BCCI have begun their quest for a new team India coach. Duncan Fletcher’s contract comes to an end after the completion of the ICC World Cup 2015 and it looks unlikely that they’ll renew his contract.

It was also reported that Fletcher wanted to leave early due to his wife’s illness but BCCI persuaded him to stay with the team with the World Cup just few months away.

“We are talking to a few people. We have also asked the senior players in the side to give their opinion,” a BCCI source told TOI.

Duncan Fletcher’s four year coaching tenure with India has been a mixed-bag so far. Under him, India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 and reached the finals of the ICC World T20 2014. In the ODIs too, they performed pretty well and won many series. But in Tests, especially overseas, India got hammered by England and Australia two times and New Zealand and South Africa one time. During these four years, India won only two Tests overseas (against West Indies in 2011 at Kingston and against England in 2014 at Lord’s).
