NIne years after being thrown out of the post of president at the BCCI, Jagmohan Dalmiya, who was accused of misappropriation of funds is back in the post and the former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly feels that this can only mean good for the BCCI.
The IPL spot fixing scandal had its say on the richest board in world cricket and Dalmiya’s appointment sees BCCI in Safe hands felt Ganguly. He added that Dalmiya will be respected irrespective of the post he is in and that Indian Cricket will only take steps forward in its growth.
Ganguly was at the felicitation programme of Dalmiya at the CAB. He added that that Dalmiya has made everyone proud and is sure that he will continue to make everyone proud after accepting the new post.
At the CAB during the felicitation all institutions affiliated to CAB were present and cheering Dalmiya and were showering him with gifts. Ganguly also added that the last time Dalmiya was in charge he was in charge for a long time and that this time he will only do good to the future of Indian cricket.
Asked why the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not given the go-ahead to the West Indies bowler even after he was cleared by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Ganguly said: “I am not totally aware of the rules and regulations.
“(BCCI president) Jagmohan Dalmiya will be the better person to answer this. He might have an answer.”
