Former England captain Michael Vaughan has heaped praise on all-rounder Ben Stokes. Vaughan stated Ben Stokes is a freak and he is currently England’s best player. Stokes played a brilliant knock of 176 runs in the first innings of the second Test match against the West Indies at Old Trafford, Manchester. The southpaw added a gargantuan alliance of 268 runs with England opener Dominic Sibley.
Stokes faced 356 balls in his knock, which is his longest innings in terms of balls. The left-hander took his time in the initial phase to set up a perfect platform for the team. Subsequently, after showing patience, Stokes catapulted his attack on the West Indies bowlers after Lunch on Day two of the second Test match.

Ben Stokes is in sublime form
The southpaw changed gears and scored at the brisk pace as he was able to find the boundaries at will. The left-hander brought his 10th Test century as he is in the form of his life. Stokes’ 176 and a resilient 120 from Dominic Sibley took England’s total to 469 runs and have put them in a commanding position. There is no doubt that Stokes is currently England’s best player as he is ticking the right boxes.
Earlier, Stokes had a couple of scores in the 40s in the first Test match at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton and he was finally able to get a big score under his belt. Stokes had led in the first Test in the absence of Joe Root but England had lost the match by four wickets.

Michael Vaughan took to his Twitter account and wrote, “England’s best player … England’s best fielder … England’s most impactful bowler … England’s best batsman at the moment delivers once again … @benstokes38 is a freak … nothing he cannot do”.

Stokes has been in sublime and he would like to continue the good show going. The England vice-captain will look to contribute with the ball as well in the West Indies batting innings.
