Bhuvneshwar Kumar‘s injury has become a major concern for the Indian team in keeping mind the next year’s big assignment scheduled in Australia, the ICC men’s T20 World Cup 2020. The pacer is also not sure how long he will take time to recover from the injury.

Bhuvneshwar has resurfaced from an old injury during the home ODI series against West Indies which ruled him out for the whole series. This has brought National Cricket Academy under many question marks.

After the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019, India toured West Indies where they played three-match T20Is, three ODIs, and two-match Test series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the part of that T20I and ODI series, but after those limited-overs matches, he was out due to side strain. He was not part of the home series against South Africa and Bangladesh. After recovering in NCA, he returned to the team against the West Indies in the home T20I series. But it was a shocking fact that the Merrut player recurred with the old injury.

Now, NCA is surrounded by the question of Bhuvneshwar’s injury. The player is detected with a sport’s hernia which is rectified with the surgery.

The player decided not to point any fingers on NCA for his injury detection and said that BCCI has the right to speak on this topic.

“It’s up to BCCI as to how they are going to take it. They must have had a chat with the NCA. NCA must have tried their best but I don’t know what went wrong and why they couldn’t diagnose. Still, I am not the right person to comment on that as it might say something else and BCCI will come up with something else,” Bhuvneshwar told PTI in an exclusive interview.

Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah, who are also recovering from injuries, had earlier withdrawn their names from NCA. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was also asked about the same if players are wary of going to the NCA. He responded:

“It’s an individual’s responsibility or wishes whether he wants to go to the NCA or not.”

Also, Sourav Ganguly had set up the meeting with NCA’s head of cricket Rahul Dravid about the injury-management of the players.
