Bhuvneshwar Kumar trained with the members of the Indian cricket team ahead of first Test of the series against Bangladesh in Indore. He has been out of the national squad since the tour of West Indies and there has been no official word on his fitness. He neither played Vijay Hazare Trophy for Uttar Pradesh not he is playing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, which indicates that he is not fully fit.

Multiple reports have suggested that Bhuvneshwar was at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) and is suffering from back issues. With him joining the team for practice session, Bhuvneshwar seems to be fit and might make a comeback to the game with the home series against West Indies.

While the Indian team does have pacers for the T20I series, there are no such replacements in the ODI squad. If Bhuvneshwar returns for the ODIs, he will share the new ball with Mohammed Shami. Navdeep Saini, who is also not fit, might also make a comeback while Deepak Chahar’s T20 credentials might see him get a recall to the ODI squad.
Bhuvneashaw has been team India’s lead pacer in white-ball cricket for a while. He should be back in the limited-overs cricket next month but isn’t expected to be named for New Zealand Tests.

The 29-year-old has lost his place in the Test side and hasn’t played a Test since January 2018. He was a part of the England tour but a back issue suffered during ODI series ruled him out. He wasn’t included in playing XI in Australia and was dropped for West Indies Tests.

Team India’s pace attack in Tests is a formidable one and even the seniors are not a permanent member of playing XI.
India next play Bangladesh in two-match Test series starting November 14 and will later host West Indies in December in a limited-overs series.
