What an incredible season it has been so far for Delhi Capitals. They dropped all those stains behind their backs and started the new season with a bang. They named Shreyas Iyer as their new skipper and also changed the whole setup of the team, which saw them doing wonders on the field. Meanwhile, the former Australian Brad Hogg rates Shreyas Iyer at the top.
The flamboyant cricketer Brad Hogg, who is currently plying his trade with IPL 2019 broadcasting unit revealed quite a few intriguing answers for various questions. One of those has been the best skipper of the tournament so far.
Shreyas Iyer has led from the front – Brad Hogg
Brad Hogg believes that Shreyas Iyer is the best captain in the tournament without any ray of a doubt. He feels that the youngster has done brilliant enough to see his side inch closer to the playoff region. Hogg also felt that Iyer led the team from the front with his batting as well.
Brad Hogg also highlighted that fact that the history of Delhi in the Indian Premier League is always poor. He also lauded the franchise for relying their trust on the youngster, who is doing it to perfection.
“Shreyas Iyer, there is no doubt about that. Delhi Capitals have been nowhere throughout the whole IPL in the previous editions. In this year they are at the top because a young man has taken the responsibility with both bat and leadership out in the field. He is making the right decisions with his bowlers, has led from the front and has taken ownership of that job,” said Hogg in a video posted on Twitter.
Well, as Hogg said, Shreyas Iyer has done brilliant enough for the team with his astounding captaincy. He also got the things to fall in place with the key players in the side helping him with their scintillating knocks. The form of Shikhar Dhawan and Rishabh Pant would be a pleasing sight.
Currently, they are placed second on the points table with 14 points in their kitty. DC will next play Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Sunday (April 28) as the Iyer-led side seeks to seal their playoff spot.
