Breaking: Amit Mishra arrested in Bangalore and released on bail subsequently

Indian leg spinner arrested in Bangalore and subsequently released on bail in Bangalore after a case of assault filed by an anonymous woman on October 20, Cricinfo reported. Mishra, who had been asked to report to the police within seven days, was charged under Indian Penal Code sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means).

“It is a bailable offence. A charge sheet will be prepared and submitted in the court,” Bangalore’s Deputy Commissioner of Police, central division, Sandeep Patil, said.



The Commissioner said the woman and leveled the charges against Mishra and alleged that the incident occurred in  the last week of September when the was in Bangalore for a training camp ahead for the South Africa series.

Mishra is a part of the India’s Test squad for four the first two Test match of four match series against South Africa scheduled to start on November 5 at Mohali.
