Brendon McCullum Exulted with his Son’s Performance in Regional Tournament

By winning the Most Valuable Player (MVP) while representing his Under-14 regional side Waikato Valley Club (WVC), Riley McCullum made his father Brendon McCullum proud for delivering with the bat and the ball.
On November 27, the statistics were released by the district based association in New Zealand, as Riley topped the charts which further saw his father Brendon celebrating the success of his son while praising former’s efforts on microblogging website Twitter.

After Caribbean Premier League (CPL) stint, Brendon represented the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) franchise Rangpur Riders for the fifth and ongoing edition, his son Riley has left a significant impact in the tournament back home.
In the Northern District Primary Boys Tournament, Riley’s batting average was registered as 22.93, and his average with the ball was far more impressive with 18.53.
In the list of five players for five matches in 2017, Riley during the competition saw his overall average of 45.76 which included fielding as well.
The left-handed batsman Riley was the only player who represented Waikato Valley Cricket Association (WVCA).
The wicket-keeper batsman Brendon, who further represented New Zealand in 260 One-day International and 71 Twenty20 Internationals, enjoyed the fearless approach of his son while trying to clear the infield, as the former was delighted to post the video of a shot played by the young McCullum.

Owing to the first season in the BPL, Brendon represented Riders in six matches, as he collected just 112 runs with the best of 43 which came against Sylhet Sixers.
Pertinently, in 2016, Riley witnessed his father Brendon for the last time while donning the white jersey when the former was present on occasion at the toss time.
After Riley enjoyed his father’s spectacular performances last year, he revealed he was exulted to see his dad walking off in style while adding he was lucky to witness the memorable knock.
Pertinently, during the Trans-Tasman Trophy, Riley made his presence felt like a part of the ANZ ‘coin toss child’ which became the treasure trove of memories for him in a nutshell.
In his final farewell Test match in February 2016, Brendon witnessed his son Riley at the toss time, before smashing a fastest Test hundred in 54 balls against Australia at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
However, the Test was won by visitors Australia, but Brendon grabbed the headlines for smashing a record.
