Without a doubt it is MS Dhoni who tops the list of captain to win most number of matches. Dhoni has captained Chennai Super Kings for 129 matches so far and has led the team to victory in 78 of those, with a win percentage of 60.93.
Second on the list is Gautam Gambhir, the current captain of Kolkata Knight Riders. Gambhir has led the KKR camp to two title victories. Off the 92 matches he had captained the team in, he has won 53 matches with a win percentage of 58.15. Gambhir is the only captain IPL after Dhoni to win 50 or more matches as captain in IPL. With Dhoni planning to retire soon (already has from Test Cricket), Gambhir is one of the best options to replace Dhoni. Though he being short tempered and his own form are biggest hurdle on the journey to be the Indian captain.
Other replacement for Dhoni is on No 4 in the form Virat and the latest entrant Rohit on No 10. Rohit Sharma has the best win percentage among the Top 10. Rohit with 27 wins in 44 matches has win percentage of 61.36, slight better than even MS Dhoni. On the other hand Kohli has 27 wins in 56 matches.
Who do you think is the perfect replacement of MS Dhoni for India? Gambhir? Kohli? or with an IPL win will it be Rohit Sharma or anyone else? Share your views with us, as to who is the right person to take Indian Cricket team forward.
