Scoring a century is always a great feeling for a batsman. Scoring one in a T20 game is even more fulfilling as there is not enough time to settle down and pace the innings. Scoring a T20 century in the same league with two different teams is something not many players have done in the IPL.
Here is a list of players who have scored an IPL century for 2 different teams –
Adam Gilchrist – (Deccan Chargers, Kings XI Punjab)
One of the finest hitters of the cricket ball and arguably the greatest wicket keeper to have played the game Adam Gilchrist who started his IPL career as a skipper for the franchise from Hyderabad had a disappointing start to the league career winning only 2 of the 14 games in the inaugural season before astonishingly winning the league in the next season. Gilly who always had the knack of playing a huge innings in important matches scored 2 centuries for the Deccan Chargers before the team from Punjab auctioned for him in the 2010 season. Gilly who became an integral part of the KIXP team helped them win many games and also scored centuries that are worth remembering.
Virender Sehwag – (Delhi Daredevils, Kings XI Punjab)
Arguably the most aggressive opening batsmen for India Virender Sehwag, was a part of the Delhi Daredevils team that performed really well in the first few seasons of the IPL. Sehwag who was still playing for India paired up with Gautam Gambhir his domestic partner and scored a mountain of runs with loads of centuries before being bought by the team from Punjab. Sehwag again scored loads of runs for the KIX and showed that he is still a player with a lot of confidence.
Brendon McCullum – (Kolkata Knight Riders, Chennai Super Kings)
With the ‘I don’t care’ attitude, McCullum has often taken the cricketing world by a storm with the careless yet effective batting style. He set the stage of IPL on fire by scoring one of the best T20 centuries of all time in the inaugural match of the IPL in the first season. McCullum who scores runs at ease played for KKR till he was bought by the team from Chennai where he was given the full license to go hard at the top because of the strong line-up the team possesses. McCullum scored centuries with both the teams and made a point that he still belongs in this format of cricket.
AB De Villiers – (Delhi Daredevils, Royal Challengers Bangalore)
The best batsmen in the world at the moment and that by a distance, ABD is someone who will complete any list concerned to batting records. Having started his IPL career at Delhi, ABD was not able to show his class on a consistent basis but was able to show the world glimpses of what he is capable of on a cricketing field. The RCB who took no time in signing him put him in a line up full of stars and ABD benefitted from it by being able to play his natural game and score at his will. He has already score two centuries this season and is second in the list of the highest run getters in this season’s IPL.
