After narrowly missing out on a win in the 2nd test match against West Indies at Antigua, the Indian cricket team will be looking to come back and perform well in the 3rd test match at ST Lucia starting from tomorrow. On the fifth day of the 2nd test, the Indian team needed 6 wickets to win the test match and go 2-0 up in the series. The Indian bowlers picked only 2 wickets on the final day.
With the 3rd test match to be played at St Lucia, the Indian team will be looking to do well and win the series. With Murali Vijay fit for the 3rd test match, it is likely Shikhar Dhawan or KL Rahul might sit for this match. KL Rahul scored a century in his 3rd test match only while Shikhar Dhawan failed to score only 27 runs. Also, Pujara might be dropped for his slow batting in the 2nd test match. Rohit Sharma might be brought in place of him.
Otherwise, the batting line up looked settled with the likes of Kohli, Rahane, Saha, and Ashwin. While in the bowling department, Mishra did have a good game in the 2nd test match. He could be replaced by Ravindra Jadeja who has not played in the 2 test matches so far. Umesh Yadav did not perform according to expectations; he might be replaced by Shardul Thakur or Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Mohammad Shami and Ishant Sharma have bowled brilliantly in the series. Virat Kohli would like these 2 bowlers and another pace bowler to put pressure on West Indies batting line up.
The Indian team have dominated the test series so far and would like to extend their domination over West Indies. If the Indian team plays according to its strength then there would be no doubts that India would win this test match and also the next test match to become the number 1 team in the world.
The second test match was ruined by rain and more than 100 overs were lost. The pitch will also play an important role in tomorrow’s test match. The pacers must bowl correct line and lengths not allowing West Indies batsmen to score runs easily.
