Chris Gayle Equals Shahid Afridi’s Record of Most International Sixes

Windies combative batsman Chris Gayle has joined Shahid Afridi record of most International sixes. Gayle who hit his 476th maximum in the ODI decider against Bangladesh joined Shahid Afridi in the elite list.
In fact, Gayle smashed five half-a-dozen in his blistering knock of 73 runs off just 66 balls. However, Gayle’s knock went in vain as Windies lost the match by 18 runs. Thus, the home side also lost the series by 2-1.

Former Sri Lankan skipper Sanath Jayasuriya is at the fourth place with 352 sixes. AB de Villiers scored 328 sixes in his International career to take the sixth place.
India’s deputy in the limited overs format Rohit Sharma is at the seventh place with 291 sixes to his name. The legendary Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar scored 264 sixes in his long career.
Meanwhile, Chris Gayle will have his opportunity to go past Shahid Afridi’s record, come the first T20I against Bangladesh on August 1.
