IPL 2020: Will Take Only One Inning To Score A Hundred For KXIP – Chris Gayle

The T20 legendary batsman Chris Gayle has stated that he will take only one inning in the upcoming season of the IPL to score a century for Kings XI Punjab. Kings XI Punjab posted a question on their Twitter account which said how many innings will Chris Gayle take to score another IPL hundred. The Universe Boss, who is always optimistic about his skills, was quick to respond and replied only one.

Meanwhile, Chris Gayle last played for Chattogram Challengers in the Bangladesh Premier League. The left-hander showed great form as he scored 144 runs in four matches for the franchise. The attacking southpaw scored a blistering knock of 60 runs off just 24 balls in his final match.

However, Gayle opted out of the ongoing Caribbean Premier League due to personal reasons but he would be available to play for KXIP in the forthcoming IPL season.

On the other hand, Chris Gayle is one of the most successful batsmen in IPL history. The pugnacious batsman has scored 4484 runs in 125 IPL matches at an impressive average of 41.14 and a whirlwind strike rate of 151.03.

Gayle also holds the record of the fastest century in the IPL as he took only 30 balls to hammer a hundred against Pune Warriors India while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2013. The left-hander went to score 175 runs, which is the highest individual score in the lucrative league.

Meanwhile, Kings XI Punjab became the first franchise to depart for the UAE on August 20. Punjab will be lead by KL Rahul, who will open the innings with Chris Gayle. This would be the first time when Rahul will lead the franchise whereas Anil Kumble is going to be the coach of the team.

The IPL is all set to begin from September 19 with Dubai, Sharjah, and Abu Dhabi to host all the matches.
