England cricketer Chris Woakes and Jonny Bairstow are the major gainers in the ICC’s ODI rankings after the completion of the three-match ODI series against Australia. Although England lost the series by 2-1.
Jonny Bairstow, the top-order batsman, had a decent inning in the first two matches of the three-match ODI series against Australia. But in the last match which was a decider, he played a match-saving and gritty knock, scoring 112 off 126 balls. However, his efforts went into vain as his side lost that match by three wickets eventually losing the series.
The flamboyant batsman has entered the top 10 list of ODI rankings. He is the only England batsman to be in the list which is led by Virat Kohli.

Chris Woakes jumps to number four position in ODI’s bowler ranking:

England allrounder Chris Woakes had a great summer as he amazed everyone with his performance through bat and ball. In bowling ranking, he has raised to number four which is his career-best rank. He had picked six wickets in the three-match ODI series against Australia.
Woakes had also scored 89 runs in that series. His overall performance has helped to be at No. 2 position in the ODI’s allrounder ranking. On the other hand, England fast bowler Jofra Archer has gained 18 slots to reach a career-best 10th place.

Talking about Australian players, fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has returned to the top 10 for the first time in nearly two years. His player of the match performance (3/34) in the first match the highlight of a four-wicket tally has moved him up from 15th to the eighth position.
Maxwell has gained five places to take joint 26th position along with Irish batsman Paul Stirling. While Carey elevated to career-best 28th position after scoring his maiden century while also stitching a record-breaking partnership with Maxwell.
