The mega auction of the awaited 13th edition (IPL 2020) of the Indian Premier League (IPL) revealed some interesting factors for the cricket fans to rack their brain. However, the trading window before the auction at Kolkata made a mark for the upcoming season of the money-spinning league. The release of the ex-skipper Ravichandran Ashwin for Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and the Rajasthan Royals (RR) releasing Ajinkya Rahane, have been the two big highlights of the trading window.
Meanwhile, the Australian cricketer Pat Cummins became the center of attention for all the franchises present at the auction. The pacer earned a whopping 15.50 Crores from the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), while Glenn Maxwell, who was sold for 10.75 Crores was the second-highest bid of the auction. Maxwell was roped in by the Punjab-based franchise; KXIP.
However, coming to KXIP, with Ashwin now playing for the Delhi Capitals (DC), the team will be led by KL Rahul. Meanwhile, the West Indies batsman, Chris Gayle (who has been out of the international cricket arena for long) will still be playing for Punjab. The Caribbean cricketer is among the oldest cricketers of the premier league.

Adam Gilchrist is a name that instilled fear even among the best in the business. The Aussie cricketer was among the most destructive batsmen during his era in international fold. He was the epitome for being the run-scorer for the Aussies while keeping the wickets against both, pace and spin.
Famously known as ‘Gilly’ by his teammates, the wicketkeeper-batsman featured for six editions of the IPL. He played three seasons for the Deccan Chargers while the other three for Kings XI Punjab. Gilchrist led now-defunct Chargers to their maiden IPL title, in the second season of the premier event of India.
Gilchrist is one of the oldest cricketers to have been a part of the IPL as long as the history of the cash-rich event goes. The last IPL he played was in 2013 when Mumbai Indians clinched their first IPL trophy.
