David Warner Meets Brian Lara, Hopes To Break His Record In Future
The Australian hitman David Warner attained his maiden triple century in the recently concluded Pakistan Test tour of Australia. However, the aggressive batsman was halted a few runs before he could make it to Brian Lara’s quadruple century record. Warner played a stunning unbeatable 335 runs knock in the pink-ball game and became the second to score a triple ton in the day/night match.
However, after being unable to beat the legendary Lara’s test record, Warner got the opportunity to meet the former Windies cricketer. With the threats of rain looming over the match, the Aussie skipper Tim Paine had little option but to declare the innings in pursuit of a win. Thereafter, the opener had to reign in his bat and return to the dressing room to prepare for the opponent’s innings.
Nevertheless, after his laudable innings in the day/night Test match, David Warner was rewarded with the opportunity to meet the veteran star cricketer of all time. Posting the same photo on Instagram, Warner wrote:
“Great to catch up with the legend himself. Maybe one day I will get another chance to Knock 400 off. @brianlaraofficial”.
Warner tags Rohit Sharma as the potential cricketer to break the quadruple record
Meanwhile, Warner believes that India’s limited-overs hitman, Rohit Sharma could definitely be the person to break Lara’s Test record. Earlier during the South Africa series, Rohit scored his maiden double ton in the Test cricket. It happened in the third match of the series against the Proteas at Ranchi where the run-machine took 249 deliveries to reach the milestone. The Indian opener reached the milestone in style by slamming a six off Lungi Ngidi’s delivery.
“I think, one day, if I’ve to name a player, I reckon it could be Rohit Sharma. Definitely,” said Warner.
