The Board of Control for Cricket of India (BCCI) has announced the list of the central contract for September 2019-October 2020 respectively. While the shocking news was the exclusion of MS Dhoni from the lucrative contract. Reportedly, he will be reincluded in the central contract if he plays matches. Also, the batsman Ambati Raydu, wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik and left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed were not retained.

Moreover, the youngster Navdeep Saini, right-arm fast bowler Deepak Chahar, and all-rounder Washington Sundar have been included in this list. Also, the Test specialist Hanuma Vihari earned the place in the much-awaited contract.

Well, Sportzwiki understands that there are some potential cricketers who deserved to be given the contract rather omitting them from the list.

Here are these five players who were an appropriate candidate for BCCI’s central contract:

Shubhman Gill:

Seeing his aggressive game, Shubhman Gill is termed as the “future Virat Kohli”. Last year, the Punjabi lad featured in two ODI games against New Zealand. He was also selected in the Test squad in the last home season but didn’t get the place in the playing XI. In between the series against Bangladesh, he was released from the squad to play the domestic T20 tournament.

The prodigious batsman earned the cal-up in the Indian team after his impressive performance in the Under-19 World Cup, 2018. The right-hand batsman was the second-highest scorer in this tournament with 372 runs in 6 matches, averaging 124. Though he didn’t have an impressive outing for the Indian senior team.

Currently, the 20-year-old is busy playing the one-day game against New Zealand A. Before playing for India A, he was the part of the Ranji Trophy match where he scored a brilliant century against Vadodara. Gill can be the future superstar of the Indian cricket. BCCI should back the youngster for his potential and he thoroughly deserved to be included in the BCCI’s contract list.
