Earlier this August, Dale Steyn announced his retirement from Test cricket and focused himself for the limited-overs game. Dale Steyn made himself available for India tour, but the experienced fast bowler was not selected for South Africa’s T20I Squad.

“I did… Obviously lost my number in the reshuffling of the coaching staff,” Steyn tweeted in response to a tweet on Wednesday.

In his sarcastic tweet, Steyn apologises Virat to indirectly show that the team selector has made a wrong choice and team would not be able to give a tough fight.

“Apologies to Virat and a billion people for thinking they not,” Steyn tweeted.

Steyn, one of the greatest fast bowler, made his test debut for South Africa in 2004. He has played 93 test matches for South Africa, picking up 439 wickets at an astonishing average of 22.95.

Steyn had Shoulder injury during mid-season of IPL. He could only play two matches for Royal Challengers Bangalore. This injury ruled him out from World cup 2019. To ensure his longevity in the sport, he announced his retirement from Test cricket.
