The dates and venues of the bilateral series between India and West Indies were announced by The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) today. In a tweet, BCCI said that the series will start on October 8 and last till November 19. The selected venues for this series are spread all over the country. Incidentally this is West Indies’ second tour of India in a year.

West Indies is scheduled to play a five-match one day series followed by a T20 match. Then they will play three tests to conclude their tour. The first ODI will be held in Kochi on October 8 followed by the second one in Vishakhapatnam on October 11. Cuttack will host the third ODI on October 14. Then the teams will move to Kolkata to play the fourth match at Eden Gardens on October 17, before playing the final match at Dharamsala on October 20. The lone T20 international will be held in Delhi on October 22.

The teams will get a week break before the test series. The test series will start from October 30. The first test will take place at Hyderabad (Oct 30-Nov 3). The second test will be held in Bangalore (Nov 7- 11). Ahmedabad will host the third and final test of the series from November 15 to 19.

West Indies toured India last year during the same time as they played couple of test matches and three one dayers. The test series was historical as the tests were the last two international matches played by Sachin Tendulkar. The first test which was Sachin’s 199th Test match was held in Kolkata. The second test, Sachin’s 200th and last, was hosted by Sachin’s home ground in Mumbai. It was an emotional series which West Indies lost. They will be hoping for a better performance this time around.
