IPL 2020 might be more than a month away but Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper David Warner cannot contain his excitement. And in doing so, he took a hilarious dig at Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB). It all happened when David Warner took to Instagram to ask his followers to pick the favourites for the upcoming season of IPL.
IPL 2020 will kickstart on September 19 in the UAE. The tournament is likely to end on November 8. The BCCI had to move the tournament outside India due to the alarming coronavirus situation in the country. The full schedule of the tournament will be out only after the IPL Governing Council’s meeting next week.
David Warner, meanwhile, decided to set the tone for the upcoming season by interacting with the fans, writing:
“Who’s winning this years @iplt20 @sunrisershyd ?? Thoughts!!”
The fans came up with different answers and one of them picked Royal Challengers Bangalore as the favourites to win IPL 2020. The comment was noticed by David Warner and he decided to respond to it in a hilarious manner. Taking a dig at the franchise’s poor record in IPL, David Warner replied by writing: “really??”

Royal Challengers Bangalore have a poor record in the IPL so far. The Bangalore-based outfit are one of the only three teams who are yet to win the IPL. They have qualified for the final thrice but ended up on the wrong side of the result on all the occasions. Their last final appearance came in 2016 when they incidentally lost to David Warner-led Sunrisers Hyderabad. In the last three seasons, they have finished at the bottom twice while finishing at sixth on one occasion.
