After 21 state associations wrote to the BCCI about their interest in accepting the Lodha Panel recommendations, the Delhi and District Cricket Association has now joined the club and has decided to implement the reforms directed by the Lodha panel.
A meeting between the executive committee members of the DDCA took place on Saturday, where the majority (nine of sixteen) of them went in-favour of accepting the reforms to avoid any other conflict of interest. With the passing of a resolution, it was confirmed the implementation would take place in totality.
Speaking to India Today, Ravinder Manchanda, DDCA treasurer informed the channel about the news.
“Out of the 16 who attended, nine agreed fully that we should go ahead with the reforms as per the Lodha Committee recommendations. We plan to seek more clarity on a few issues from the Committee in the next few days.”
As per the reports, the DDCA treasurer had taken permission from the Lodha Committee to hold the meeting after assuring them that ‘no elections are taking place’ and that it’s happening to form an interim committee of office bearers.
“We will do everything as per the Lodha Committee recommendations and only those people who qualify as per the SC judgment will be part of the new committee,” Manchanda said.
Earlier this year, the Supreme Court of India sacked board’s President Anurag Thakur and honorary secretary Ajay Shirke from their respective post.
