De Villiers, Steyn and Parnell makes early exit from CPL to participate in CSA awards

South African players AB De Villiers, Dale Steyn, and Wayne Parnell have decided to end their CPL stint midway so as to participate in the annual award function that will be hosted by the South African board later this month. The award ceremony will be hosted in Johannesburg.

The Barbados Tridents, the team AB De Villiers plays for have already named a replacement for him. The Pakistani batsman Ahmad Shehzad will replace him in the squad whereas the South African pacer Merchant De Lange will replace the pacer, Wayne Parnell.

De Villiers has been in good form for his team as the dashing batsman has already scored 234 runs at a healthy average of 58.50. His exit will be a big loss for the team.

Shehzad is expected to join the team before their next game against Tallawahs whereas De Lange is expected to join his squad on July 23. Both the players who are not a member of their national team have a good chance to perform here in this tournament and present a case in front of national selectors.

The South African board earlier decided to remove HD Ackerman as the host of the award as he is planning to shift to Australia later this year.
