In the coming T20 World Cup, Dharamsala Stadium is set to host as manay as 10 different matches and as a result the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association has decided to raise the number of seats by 25 percent. HPCA spokesperson Sanjay Sharma has told the PTI that a total of 5000 more seats will be added before the start of the tournament.
Not only the number of seats, a total of 30 news will be added in the Pavilion Hotel. These rooms will have the 5 star facilities to accommodate more players. It was not long back that the pavilion was constructed by the HPCA. The construction work for the new rooms has already started.
Sanjay Sharma added that the HPCA will aproach the Himachal State Government for help in organising these matches properly and added that these matches will help in increasing the tourism in the state as many cricket lovers throughout the world would turn up to watch these matches.
The most sought after match will be the one between India and Pakistan on March 19 and no doubt it will be tough to get a ticket for this match. A day earlier, another arch rivals in Australia and New Zealand will go head to head at the same venue.
Dharamsala will also host 2 matches of the Women’s T20 World Cup as well.
