Dindigul Dragons owners and players were delighted yesterday as the star Indian all-rounder was back in business for them to play the first match of the season for his franchise. The result was that their batman crossed the 50 run mark quite early. The opening baseman batted aggressively laying a strong foundation at the start. V Subramania Siva cashed upon great start but soon team lost its form and started losing early wickets. Even R. Ashwin could just score 15 runs. They put a total of 159 runs on the board but they were confident of defending it as they had a superb bowling line up.
As expected the bowlers ran over the batting line-up of the opposition team. The bowlers gave regular tremors to Ruby Ranchi warriors. The impact of bowling up can be judged by the fact that only one batsman could touch the 20 run mark. It was surprising to see R. Ashwin bowling only 2 overs in which he scalped a wicket at cost of 6 runs.
Murugan Ashwin who was a part of India Blue flew back from Greater Noida to Tamil Nadu for this contest. He will fly back there after 3 days before the next match starts.
