Dindigul Dragons wins the super over thriller

Super over was probably the only thing which was missing from TNPL. We have seen high-scoring thrillers, low scoring thriller and now a tied match. The TNPL is keeping the fans tied to it.

Abhinav Mukund-led Tuti Patriots won the toss and decided to bat first. Despite having a good start they could just score 120 runs. Mukund scored 24 runs with the bat. Murugan Ashwin again shone with the ball taking 2 wickets in 4 overs for just 19 runs. R. Ashwin’s absence once again was the highlight of the match.

The N Jagadeesan led batting line up looked confident of chasing the target but things went opposite to what all were expecting. Patriots kept losing continuous wickets which acted as a barrier to their success. None of the batsman except Murugan Ashwin and V Ganga Shridhar Raju could touch 10 run mark. Patriots had an easy task to score 6 runs of last over but they could just score five thus the match ended in a tie.

The result was computed with a super over. Dragons batting first scored 12 runs in six balls and then restricted Patriots on just five thus winning the super over and the game.
