In 2018, West Indies cricketer Dwayne Bravo had retired from international cricket because of the fall out with the Cricket West Indies (CWI). At that time, he had said that he was not satisfied with the administration system. But in 2019, Bravo reversed his decision after stating that there are positive changes in the team, so he has decided to play again for his country.
Well, now the allrounder is full of praise for his team and the captain Kieron Pollard. He has said that the West Indies team has turned to be an intimidating side.
Better than our World-Cup-winning team: Dwayne Bravo
The allrounder, who was the part of the T20 World Cup 2016 winning team, made his international comeback in January against Ireland this year.
In the recent interview with ESPNcricinfo, he said that he was in awe when he saw the batting strength of the current team. He believes that the West Indies team has turned out to be more dangerous for the opposition.
“I’m just in awe of our batting line-up, and I said to the guys, I said listen, I think this team is actually better than our World-Cup-winning team, and that is no joke because, at the end of the day, you have batting all the way down to No. 10.”
“It’s an intimidating team, it’s a team to intimidate the opposition, and that excites me. So I will just do my part as a bowler, try to control the back end of the innings, especially closing off the innings with death bowling, which has been, in the past, a bit of a concern for us,” said Bravo.
Dwayne Bravo on Kieron Pollard:
The 36-year old also appreciated white-ball skipper Kieron Pollard for his passion for winning every game. Pollard was handed over the captaincy last year. He has played 113 ODIs and 73 T20Is, scoring 3619 runs and taken 88 wickets. Bravo said that all the players highly respect Pollard.
