ENG vs IND, 2018: Kuldeep Yadav Hopeful of Test Call After Brilliant Show

India’s chinaman spinner Kuldeep Yadav is hopeful to don the white jersey after his brilliant show against England in the United Kingdom (UK). Kuldeep was right on the money in the first One-Dayer against England in Nottingham.
In fact, Kuldeep scalped his best figures in the 50-over format scalping six for 25 in his ten-over quota.
The mystery spinner Kuldeep was able to wreak havoc in the English batting line up as the Three Lions batsmen once again failed to pick him up.
In fact, England had got off to a good start and a score of 350 was on the cards. However, Kuldeep was able to put a nip in the bud as he took three early wickets in his first spell to put England on the backfoot.
Meanwhile, after his brilliant show in the Twenty20 International series and during the ODI opener, Kuldeep sets his eye on the Test berth.
However, the conditions are getting drier in England. Thus, the wrist spinner can be a great asset for Team India.
Kuldeep said after his match-winning spell, “I bowled wicket to wicket and tried to vary my pace,” he said. “Talking about Test cricket, I am hoping for the call and let’s see what happens in a couple days when they announce the Test team.”
Meanwhile, it is expected that Kuldeep Yadav will get a call into the Test squad given his current form.
Furthermore, Indian skipper also believes it would be a right time to include Uttar Pradesh-based bowler in the Test squad.
Last year, the wicket-taking bowler had made his Test debut against Australia. He had scalped four wickets in the first innings while playing at picturesque Dharamshala stadium.
“For me, it is a big day. I started off well in the first few overs. Luckily I got a couple of wickets in the first two overs. For me, it does not matter if the ground is small. Initially, I thought there was a lot of turn and after the first over, I knew I was in the game,” he smiled.
It was a dominating display from the Indian team. But, Rohit Sharma guided the team home as he scored his 18th ODI hundred. India will look to seal the series when they will meet England in the second ODI on Saturday (June 14).
