ENG VS IND, 2018: Mohammed Azharuddin Wants Ashwin, Kuldeep to Be Included in XI for First Test

Mohammed Azharuddin, one of the gems India has ever produced makes his voice clear on team India’s playing XI for the first Test in particular. After the heroics of Kuldeep Yadav in the limited-overs leg, all the analysts call a place for him the starting XI in the Test side.

Similarly, former Team India skipper Azharuddin also desires Kuldeep to be in the playing XI. Azhar suggested India go with two spinners in the side by including ace off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. He felt that adding Ashiwn will also help in batting as well.

”It will be hot and the pitches would offer turn especially on the last two days. Kuldeep Yadav is performing so he should be picked and the England side is struggling (against) him. Ashwin and Yadav should play. I don’t think Jadeja will make the cut,” Azhar said according to Indian Express.

England will find it difficult to tackle India: Mohammed Azharuddin

Azharuddin furtherly delivered a strong statement. He added that England doesn’t have a firepower in their bowling unit to tackle India. Their best bowlers Stuart Broad and James Anderson are at their twilight stages and he feels it is the best time for India to seal the series.

He went on to suggest India go with 4-1 or 3-2 combination. Azhar reiterated that the green tops will also work in favour of India as we got a quality lineup in the bowling department.

“England will find it very difficult to dislodge India because they don’t have a good bowling attack. We have a very strong side. There are only two (good) bowlers they have — (James) Anderson and (Stuart) Broad, but they are injury prone and in the twilight of their careers,” Azhar told PTI in an interview

“If it’s a green pitch then they may go with 4-1, but I think 3-2 will be a better combination if you want to win. Because later the pitches will get dry. It will be hot and the pitches would offer turn especially on the last two days,” he added.

However, it seems Mohammed Azharuddin is very confident of the Indian team delivering the goods in the United Kingdom (UK).

Virat Kohli’s Indian side is scheduled to play five-match Test series starting from August 1st  at Birmingham.
