England Leg-spinner Adil Rashid Keen to Feature in the IPL

Experienced leg-spinner from England, Adil Rashid has expressed to play in the franchise-based Indian Premier League (IPL) in the near future, saying that it will help him to improve his bowling skills.

Meanwhile, Rashid is a part of the One-day International squad that will take on India in the three-match series. He was also a part of the Twenty20 International squad that went down to India in the T20I series by 2-1.

England has turned out to be one of the best limited-overs sides since 2015 World Cup debacle. While they have changed the approach with the bat, the emergence of their bowlers has also played a crucial part in it.

The players’ participation in the IPL has played a crucial role of late.

However, many believe that the exposure which IPL gives has helped the Indian youngster a lot. This year many witnessed a drastic increase in the number of England players ply their trade in the T20 tournament like the cash-rich domestic professional league IPL,

Keen to play in IPL

Recently, Rashid in his column on Sky Sports expressed his desire to feature in the league.

However, he maintained that he was happy with his performance in the recently concluded T20I series against Men in Blue.

The IPL is something I’d like to play in one day, but that’s something for the future. I thought the Indian batsmen picked me well during the T20 series – the googly or whatever variation. But I was still pleased with how I bowled in the series. And in the T20 against Australia at Edgbaston,” Rashid wrote.

Adil Rashid also feels England should play more against India to improve in this format of the game. He also cited India as one of the best T20I team currently.

They are one of the best T20 sides in the world – they have the best domestic competition in the world in the IPL, and the best players. The more we play against these big teams, like India, the better we will get as well,” Rashid concluded.
