England Provides Ollie Robinson Injury Update After Ankle Scan

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has provided an update on the injury status of fast bowler Ollie Robinson after the pacer suffered an ankle injury after playing for Sussex in the County Championship Division Two match against Glamorgan at Hove last week.

Prior to leaving the field with a painful ankle, Robinson bowled eight over. After lunch, he left the pitch again, and on May 22 he will be subject to scans.

Robinson was relocated, according to Sussex coach Paul Farbrace, because keeping him would have made his injury worse. The medical staff of Sussex and English Cricket worked together to decide whether to send Robinson for scans.

“He’s got a sore ankle and he’ll be scanned on Monday to see how bad he is. We knew it was sore yesterday, that’s why we got one spell out of him this morning. He tried his hardest really, it was a long spell, he got stuck in. He knew it was going to be one and one only, and then once he was off that was it for the day. Ollie Robinson Will Join Up With The England Men’s Test Squad This Weekend Ahead Of Ireland Test

England are breathing a sigh of relief after seamer Ollie Robinson was cleared to join up with the squad for the Ireland Test at Lord’s this week. He was seen wearing a protective boot at the end of the match and underwent a scan to discover the full extent of the issue on Monday (May 22).

But the ECB has confirmed that following the results of the assessment there is “no damage” to the joint.

“Sussex and England seamer Ollie Robinson had a scan on Monday to determine the extent of some discomfort in his left ankle after playing for Sussex in the LV= Insurance County Championship Division Two match against Glamorgan at Hove last week.

Scan results have revealed no damage to the ankle and that Robinson will join up with the England Men’s Test squad this weekend ahead of the LV= Insurance Test match against Ireland starting on Thursday 1 June at Lord’s,” ECB stated.
