It all looked like a flat track when England batted but a hints of life were left in the pitch was proved when India came out to bat against the pace attack of England. India lost 8 wickets in their innings of which couple were of poor shot selection adding to consitent bowling. Now India need another 47 runs to avoid follow on with two wickets in hand.

After coming from Tea interval, India soon lost Rahane who tried to play a pull but miscued by gifting his wicket to Ali after scoring 54. Later Jadeja and Dhoni kept tackling the England attack till the new ball was taken. After the new ball was taken Jadeja tried for shots as the scoring rate increased a bit. He put on 58 in nearly 1 overs along with Dhoni for 7th wicket before he was dismissed by Jadeja found plumb infornt for 37. Been considered as the best Indian batsman, Bhuvneshwar Kumar kept playing deliveries ensuring MSD score on other end.

Bhuvi took over Broad smashing 3 fours in his over and Broad took revenge by getting Bhuvi in his next over as the latest sensation fell for 19, recording his first failure with bat. Later on other end Captain Dhoni kept his fight as he completed his fifty in penultimate over with a boundary over covers.

Earlier India lost Pujara & Vijay in the first session who both got out after good starts. After lunch Kohli who was looking good too departed but Rahane and Rohit put on 74 for 5th wicket before Rohit played a shot of his type to ruin India’s position.
