England’s all-rounder Moeen Ali is happy to be playing the waiting game. Ali, who hasn’t yet found his place in the playing XI for the first three Test matches, is looking forward to making his place.
Once again, Ali has found the place in the 14-man England squad, however, whether he will play the fourth Test remains to be seen. In fact, Moeen Ali has given a strong push to his selection envelope following his fine performance for his County, Worcestershire. Ali scored 219 and took eight wickets against Yorkshire.
Moeen Ali is in good form.
“We’ll see. We are winning and we’ve played quite well,” Moeen told Sky Sports.
“I know we lost the last game, but I feel like we’ve played quite well in the Test matches and, like I said, we’re 2-1 up still. If I get the nod, it’d be great. If not, it’s not a problem.
Meanwhile, Moeen Ali went on to add he is not taking anything for granted. He is looking to live in the present moment and take it from there.
“There’s been times where I could have been dropped and I’ve played. I don’t take anything for granted. I’m just trying to stay in the present at the moment.
Moeen Ali is in good form with both bat as well as the ball. Thus, he is looking to carrying forward his good touch for his County and England.
“I’m playing well and I just want to keep up the form with Worcester and, hopefully, with England one day as well. I’m just trying to do my best, put my name up there again and see what happens.”
The series is nicely placed with England leading 2-1. India was able to make a strong statement by bouncing back in in the third Test match at Trent Bridge.
The fourth Test match will take place at Aegis Bowl, Southampton from 30th August.
