Faisal Hasnain, the former ICC Chief Financial Officer, has been appointed as the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) CEO for three years, replacing Wasim Khan, who resigned earlier this year. Wasim Khan’s tenure was set to end officially in February 2022, however, it was learned that he was disappointed after his powers were curtailed by new PCB chief Ramiz Raja, leading to his resignation.

As for the 62-year-old Faisal Hasnain, who will take charge from January 2022 onwards, an administrative role is nothing new. He previously served as the managing director of Zimbabwe Cricket until 2018, while he also served to the apex cricketing body ICC twice (2002-08 and 2010-17) in the capacity of CFO.
