Fans react to New Zealand’s batting in the first ODI

With MS Dhoni at the helm of affairs as the skipper, India’s bowling display took the New Zealand batsmen by storm at Dharamshala. After opting to bowl first on a relatively flat deck, Dhoni had his move pay off, as debutant Hardik Pandya dismissed the dangerous Martin Guptill in just the second over of the game. Twin strikes by pace spearhead Umesh Yadav further pegged back New Zealand.
To make matters rather ironic, it was part-time spinner Kedar Jadhav, who made merry as he struck against the run of play on successive deliveries. Tom Latham was brilliant as his resilient half-century took New Zealand to a respectable total, considering their initial position. In the end, the Kiwis were all-out for 190.
Fans on Twitter lauded India’s bowling performance and below are some of the tweets.
