N.Srinivasan who led the show at the BCCI completed his term earlier in March this year and the new heads in Jagmohan Dalmiya and Anurag Thakur have started to change the whole of BCCI as two of the inside men have been removed by the current regime.
The logistics manager MA Satish and the media manager Dr RN Baba were both shown the door by the hierarchy as they now try to remove the imprints left by Srinivasan on the board.
Satish who is former cricketer from Kerala, has been serving the BCCI from the year 2011. However, his connection and employment with the Srinivasan owned India cements meant he was shown the door. The India cements were under the watch by the Supreme Court due to conflict of interest and due to this, Satish was removed from his post for some time. However, he was re-instated at the office in January this year but has now been shown the exit from the board. Reports suggested that Rishikesh Upadhyay will replace Satish atleast for the upcoming Bangladesh tour.
RN Baba who came into the spotlight after he successfully defended the Indian skipper Virat Kohli during an incident. Kohli, who is naturally full of aggression, abused a journalist during a press meet. Baba made sure the incident did not make headlines and that it did not affect Kohli’s attitude and approach to the game. Baba who has been very helpful to the board has no replacement for his post yet but the administrative manager of the BCCI, Biswarup Dey will be given the role of the media manager for Team India along with his role in the BCCI.
The Bangladesh tour will begin in Fatullah on the 10th of June with the only Test match of the tour. The new look Indian side will be waiting to show their capability and to prove to the world that they are indeed one of the best teams in the world.
