Gautam Gambhir retired from cricket but has never stopped keeping his opinion for cricket. The cricketer-turned-politician is outspoken and never hesitate to keep his view on Twitter. Gambhir is famous for twitter fights with the former Pakistan cricketer Shahid Afridi. The onfield fight has continued in off-field.
The relation of both the cricketers has never been healthy. They have been regularly engaged in fights on the microblogging site, Twitter. Their twitter fights go viral immediately between the cricket fans. Gambhir opens up on the relation between them.

He chats with Indian express and said that he has personal grudges with the player. He opines that he has a decent relation with other Pakistan Cricketers but not with the allrounder.
“Some fights do get personal and there is nothing wrong with that. It has been like that for a very long time. Sometimes it is nice to get personal with someone.”

“I have had decent relationships with Pakistani players, off the field, but not with Shahid Afridi. So that is the reason we got personal,” he said.
Shahid Afridi will never retire: Gambhir
Gambhir, in a sarcastic way, said that Shahid Afridi will never retire from cricket and he might come back to the team.
“Now obviously he doesn’t play but you never know, he might just make a comeback. He will never retire… There is a bit of history to that (the relationship with Afridi), I am fine with that.”
Gautam Gambir is the candidate of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Member of Parliament from East Delhi. The player retired from all format of cricket in December 2018 but is still connected to the cricket as he does commentary. He was perfect in all the fields and played 147 ODIs, 58 Tests and 37 T20Is.
